The Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS) once again honored Anna Maria College as a leader among institutions of higher education for their support of volunteering, service-learning, and civic engagement. Anna Maria College was admitted to the 2011 President’s Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll for engaging its students, faculty and staff in meaningful service that achieves measurable results in the community. Among its many outreach projects continues to be its extraordinary volunteer efforts at the United Way of Central Massachusetts’ Day of Caring. This is the second year in a row that AMC has been recognized for this prestigious honor.
Advancement Through Service
Students in the club help with fundraising events during our winter and spring break trips, help educate the community about the mission of Habitat for Humanity, and of course, help with builds all across the United States. AMC students have been involved with Habitat for Humanity for many years, taking trips to Michigan, Florida, and Louisiana, just to name a few. AMC Habitat Club is a way for the College to give back to people in need.
